Cross Timbers Forestry

About Us

Over the last decade, as Cross Timbers Forestry has grown, our business philosophy has developed.

How we run the business    Cross Timbers Forestry applies our knowledge of the natural and physical sciences to our client’s needs.  We know that the flora, fauna, the soils, geology, climatic elements, and land use of an area all impact the resource and its management.  We use advanced remote sensing techniques, computerized geographic information systems and global positioning systems (GIS & GPS) to locate, enhance, and store pertinent data. We then apply our knowledge of the resources to create innovative solutions to our clients’ goals.  Cross Timbers Forestry participates in professional societies supporting our fields of science, gives of its time to promote the general welfare of our community, and expands the knowledge base of the areas within which we operate.

Our Principles    They're simple yet significant: We don’t lie, cheat or steal, and we do not work with any who do. Cross Timbers is built on a firm foundation, that is, family. Ben Silliman said that the American families have always shown remarkable resiliency, or flexible adjustment to natural, economic, and social challenges. Their strengths resemble the elasticity of a spider web, a gull’s skillful flow with the wind, the regenerating power of perennial grasses, and the persistence of a stream carving canyon rocks. These are not the strengths of fixed monuments but living organisms. This resilience is not measured by wealth or muscle but by creativity, unity, and hope. These characteristics are what define Cross Timbers Forestry.

People We Hire    We hire the very best people for the job and provide training and leadership to increase their abilities and potential.  Cross Timbers encourages all of our employees to gain recognition and certification to demonstrate their knowledge and awareness of professional responsibilities.  Each of our employees is involved in project development and management decisions so any company representative can answer questions and make-on-the-ground decisions about a project in which they are involved.  Each employee is truly a part of our company family and this is reflected in the pride we each have in our work and our lives.

Breadth and Depth Cross Timbers Forestry takes pride in its breadth and depth of backgrounds and areas of knowledge.  Our clients are often amazed at the broad range of our accomplishments.  We know we can rise to the occasion, what ever it may be, as R. Heinlein said, “We also walk dogs.”
